All-Ireland Crown
Dublin's Mark
Farrell won the All-Ireland title for the 5th consecutive
time, following a marathon shoot-out in the final against
Northern Ireland's Kenny Beggs. They could not be
separated during open play, with the match finishing 0-0
after extra-time and it took 17 shots each in the
resulting shoot-out before a winner could be found. As
the tension grew, Farrell held his nerve the longest to

Acorn Primary
School Junior Event 9th Dec 2017
Craig Stewart organised a Junior WASPA Tournament during the Christmas Fair at
Acorn Primary School in Carrickfergus. Rules were
simplified as the aim was to introduce new players to the
game. It was on a play-as-you-go basis, with
2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 1 bonus point
for each game played, to encourage as much participation
as possible. Well done to Corin who had most points by
the end of the fair and was rewarded with a nice trophy
and a free Subbuteo team. More info from Craig here
