BEGGS
& MOORE MEET AGAIN IN FINAL
Kenny Beggs
& Gary Moore met in the final, only 3 weeks after
their North Down Open final which Beggs won on shots -
and there was little to separate the top two seeds again
in Dunmurry, although this time it was settled during
normal time, with Beggs scoring the only goal midway
through the 2nd half. Moore pressed for the equaliser
with dangerous wing attacks but Beggs' packed defence
remained solid and he hung on to defeat the holder. Full Results

RODGERS WINS
VETERANS
Stephen
Rodgers won his first Veterans trophy, beating Davy Clegg
3-2 in an unpredictable final which saw Stephen score
early, only for Clegg to hit back with two quick goals to
lead 2-1 at the break. There was another about turn in
the 2nd half, however, when Rodgers broke swiftly through
the middle to equalise - and repeated the move two
minutes later to score his 3rd.
MORRISON BROTHERS
DOMINATE YOUTH & JUNIORS
Andrew
Morrison beat Daniel Kirkwood 5-0 in the U-19 Final,
while his brother, Peter, won the U-15s, topping a
four-player group, 3 points ahead of runner-up, Mark
McKane.
PLATE SPECIALIST
McROBERTS
Joe McRoberts
was knocked out of his Open group due to a last minute
goal by Barry Spence, but he went on to add another Plate
to his collection, with a 4-2 final victory over Stephen
Rodgers, who just failed to qualify from his group on
goal-difference.
