MORE DIVISIONAL FIXTURES 9th May 05
Nine players turned up this month. In the 1st Division, Kenny beat his closest rivals, Eoin & Simon, to consolidate top spot. Simon beat Joe & Donal to go 2nd ahead of Eoin, whose other result was a 2-2 draw with Barry. Joe remains 4th, just ahead of Barry who was unbeaten on the night. In the 2nd Division, Georgia Lee lost to Alistair Morrison and drew with current leader, Colin Perry. 1st & 2nd Div Results & Tables

POOR TURNOUT 11th Apr 05
Only six members turned out for the latest Barbarians meeting, which severely limited the number of league matches possible. A start was made on the Divisional fixtures - Kenny Beggs beat Joe McRoberts 3-0 in the 1st Division; Colin Perry played two 2nd Division matches, a 0-0 draw with Andrew Morrison and a 2-0 victory over Alistair Morrison. Barry Spence did not get any league action but was able to introduce some juniors to the game. Some fixtures involving Glen Barr & David Crowe had to be forfeited as they have missed a few meetings and won't have time to catch up. This resulted in Joe moving up one place to 3rd, Barry leapfrogging the Moores into 5th & Andrew moving up two places to 12th.

BARBARIANS RUNNER-UP AT NORTH DOWN OPEN 12th Mar 05
Belfast Barbarians finished runner-up in the team event at the North Down Open in Donaghadee. Kenny, Barry & Joe were pipped at the post with two last minute goals by the host team of Eoin Adams, Davy Clegg & Stephen Rodgers. Full Results

TWO DIVISIONS ALMOST DECIDED 7th Mar 05
Twelve league members plus North Down guest, Davy Clegg, turned out for this month's meeting. Twelve league matches were played and, although there was little change in the table, the split into Divisions for the 2nd half of the season is all but decided. Stephen Rodgers just missed out on the top section but should be favourite to win Division 2. David Crowe & Glen Barr have matches in hand, so it is still possible for them to make the cut but it would require them gaining points against the top players. The next clubnight will be the last chance to catch up on the outstanding matches. Results & Table

BIG VICTORY FOR JOHN MOORE 27th Feb 05
John Moore beat Gary Moore 5-0 to climb three places to 6th and causing Gary to drop two places to 8th.

EOIN KEEPS THE PRESSURE ON KENNY 7th Feb 05
Ten league members turned out for the latest clubnight, along with Davis Crowe, who enjoyed a few friendlies. The top three remain unchanged, although Eoin Adams continued his good form to keep the pressure on Kenny Beggs at the top. Eoin's victories against Simon Stewart & John Moore put him only 2 points behind Kenny, who dropped points in a 1-1 draw with John. Simon caught up on a backlog of fixtures to move into 4th, hot on the heels of 3rd placed Joe McRoberts. Despite losing his opening fixture to Kenny, Gary Moore had a good night, climbing from 10th to 6th with wins against Simon, Colin Perry & Stephen Rodgers. Colin & David Crowe each picked up 4 points, while Georgia Lee got an excellent 1-1 draw with Stephen. Results & Table

BARBARIANS WELCOME TWO SOUTHERN MEMBERS 12th Jan 05
There was a good turnout of 12 players at the latest meeting, including new members, Gary Moore & John Moore from Rep of Ireland. They made an immediate impact, remaining unbeaten and climbing to mid-table after only 4 matches. There is little change at the top, with Kenny Beggs & Eoin Adams still 1st & 2nd, while Joe McRoberts overtook Barry Spence to go 3rd & Donal Convery jumped two places to 5th. Elsewhere, Andrew Morrison moved above Alistair Morrison on goal difference, despite Alistair's narrow 2-3 defeat to Gary Moore, Ireland's No.2 player. David Crowe & Peter Morrison had some tough matches but picked up a point each in their 2-2 draw. Results & Table

BEGGS BACK IN POLE POSITION 6th Dec 04
Current champion, Kenny Beggs, went top for the first time this season after two wins and a draw at the latest club meeting. It was a bad night for last month's leader, Joe McRoberts, who lost twice and dropped to 4th, enabling Eoin Adams & Barry Spence to leapfrog him into 2nd & 3rd respectively. Simon Stewart had a good night, beating Joe & drawing with Kenny, plus two other victories to climb into 5th. He still has matches in hand and could go top if he wins them. Donal Convery moved up to 7th, which just about keeps him on course for the 1st Division after the mid-season split. Colin Perry leads the bottom half, despite 3 defeats, while Alistair Morrison overtook his two sons after picking up 4 points against them. Results & Table

McROBERTS GOES TOP 16th Nov 04
Joe McRoberts moved into top spot, ahead of Kenny Beggs on goal difference, displacing Eoin Adams from the top, which he also did recently in the North Down League. Stephen Rodgers had a good night, climbing eight places into 3rd, while Eoin slipped to 4th following defeats to Kenny & Stephen. Barry Spence remains unchanged in 5th & Colin Perry moved up to 6th. The Morrisons & Glenn Barr completed a reasonable turnout of ten players. Results & Table

ADAMS TOPS TABLE AFTER FIRST SESSION 25th Oct 04
The Barbarians' new season got underway with a great turnout of 14 players. Eoin Adams went top, following his success of the previous day in the North Down League which he also heads. Reigning champion, Kenny Beggs, started slowly, drawing his first two games against Donal Convery & Joe McRoberts. Newcomers, Glenn Barr & David Crowe had excellent starts, both remaining unbeaten on the night. Results & Table

SIMON STEWART TAKES FIRST HONOURS OF 2004/05 28th Sept 04
The first meeting of the new season was an Open Night, with 12 players taking part in a tournament played to a 4-round 'Swiss System'. Simon Stewart topped the table on goal-difference ahead of Kenny Beggs. Donal Convery also had a good night, finishing 3rd and remaining the only unbeaten player. Barry Spence led the table most of the way but lost his last match to finish 4th, just above NI Junior Champion, Peter Morrison & Joe McRoberts. Davy Clegg & Eoin Adams had to leave early, so only played 3 fixtures. Alistair Morrison had time to play only one match, an entertaining 2-3 defeat against Georgia Lee. 1st Open Night Results
