League 2005/06
The traditional League was scrapped in favour of a Swiss-Ladder system. A points tally was kept each night (1st-16pts, 2nd-15pts, etc) & players' best five performances totalled to determine final placings.

Italian Plays in Barbarians 7th Ladder Aug 1st 2006
Ezio Orru, of Italian club Cagliari Calcio Tavolo, made a guest appearance during his holiday in Northern Ireland. He took part in the Barbarians' 7th Ladder, winning three matches to finish 2nd, his only defeat being to League Champion, Kenny Beggs. Joe McRoberts was 3rd, followed by Eoin Adams, which was enough to secure 2nd place in the Championship Table, one point ahead of Barry Spence.

Exciting Climax to 6th Ladder July 24th 2006
A good turnout of ten people made for an exciting evening's play. Going into the last session, five players were still in with a chance of topping the 4-round swiss ladder. Davy Clegg, Kenny Beggs & Stephen Rodgers were all tied, with Andrew Morrison & Jim McCullough only one point behind. The final matches involving these players were all scoreless at half-time, which would have suited Davy. Things opened up in the 2nd half, however, with Davy beating Stephen 1-0 and Jim losing 1-2 to Eoin Adams, which meant Kenny had to win by at least two goals against Andrew, who had earlier beaten Barry Spence. Once Kenny got his first, however, the floodgates opened and he hit four more to win the 6th Ladder on goal-difference. With only one Ladder remaining, Beggs cannot be caught in the Championship Table, and so becomes the Barbarians League Champion for the 3rd time.

Joe Wins Ladder No.2 March 20th 2006
Only five players were present at the latest Barbarians' meeting but the revised format (using the Swiss-Ladder system) meant that all had a competitive and enjoyable evening's play. Joe McRoberts topped the 2nd Ladder of the season, due to victories over Kenny Beggs, Eoin Adams, Davy Clegg & Jim McCullough. This puts McRoberts & Beggs on equal points at the top of the Championship Table after two events. Ladder 2 Results

Backlog in League Schedule Developing 23rd Jan 2006
Despite North Down rearranging their scheduled meeting to accommodate the Barbarians, only five league members and one guest were able to make it. This limited the league fixtures which could be played. Three players have still to open their campaign, which is beginning to cause a backlog of fixtures. They will need to make a decision soon about their participation for the remainder of the season. Fixtures | Results

There were discussions about changing the format of the league, as those who attend regularly have already played each other and need to have competitive matches instead of just friendlies.
