10th Ladder: Joe Finishes Season in Style 13th Aug 2007
Joe McRoberts won the final Ladder, beating Northern Ireland Champion, Davy Clegg, 3-0 in his last match to secure top spot. The season's joint highest turnout of eleven players made for an interesting evening. League Champion, Kenny Beggs, had to settle for 4th place, behind Barry Spence & Davy Clegg. Mark McKane made his first appearance, as did Nicky Moore, who travelled from Republic of Ireland. Also good to see Donal Convery back for the first time in almost a year.

9th Ladder 9th July 2007
Barry Spence won the 9th Ladder, pipping League Champion, Kenny Beggs on goal-difference. Joe McRoberts made a welcome return, staying unbeaten on the night, and looks likely to finish 3rd in the Championship Table.

8th Ladder: Kenny Retains Championship 11th June 2007
There was another good turn-out, thanks to the Morrisons again bringing along some friends. Kenny Beggs won the Ladder and, with it, his 4th consecutive League Championship. Having played his quota of 7 events, his current points tally means he cannot be overtaken. Barry Spence looks set to finish 2nd in the Championship Table.

7th Ladder 14th May 2007
Alistair Morrison had a good night and was just pipped into 1st place by Kenny Beggs. Barry Spence still leads the Championship Table, having played one event more than his nearest rivals.

6th Ladder 2nd April 2007
Kenny Beggs won the season's 6th Ladder. The Morrisons brought along some friends, making a total of 11 participants, the highest attendance of the season.

Barbarians Double Up For Christmas 11th Dec 2006
The Belfast Barbarians Subbuteo Club decided to try something different at their Christmas meeting in the form of a fun doubles competition. The rules involved one player on each team attacking for half the game, while his partner defended, then swapping roles.

Three pairs played a round-robin of matches which saw the Davy Clegg / Joe McRoberts partnership come out victorious. Their first opponents were Kenny Beggs & Jim McCullough, whom they beat 1-0. Beggs & McCullough then lost 0-3 to Barry Spence & Eoin Adams, which left the latter pair only requiring a draw in the last match due to their superior goal-difference. The first half of the decider was goal-less but mid-way through the 2nd half, Clegg scored. This set up a frantic finale as Spence & Adams pressed for an equaliser. In the dying seconds, Spence was clean through but, with the goal at his mercy, he sent the ball wide and Clegg & McRoberts breathed a sigh of relief as the final whistle sounded. A thoroughly entertaining evening was rounded off with some Christmas food and drink - a great way to end the Subbuteo year.

Spence tries to score from an Adams corner but is denied by Clegg's keeper
