Irish Premier League
News ArchiveYorkshire International Open 12th-13th Feb
2011
IPL made a
comeback after almost three years' absence. John Moore,
Gary Moore & Mark Farrell travelled but,
unfortunately, Kenny Beggs had to drop out at short
notice. Scotland's Malcolm Lees stood in, although his
results did not count, so it was effectively a 3-man
team. Despite this setback, it was a successful return
for IPL, as they reached the Semi-Finals before losing to
eventual tournament winners, The Glide, Slide, Chip &
Dip Club (formerly English Premier League).
There were seven teams in
total, split into two groups. IPL qualified for the
semi-finals by finishing 2nd in their group, following
victories over Kent and Lancashire and defeat to North
East Table Football Alliance. Results
It was the IPL's first
team event since they finished runner-up to Yorkshire
Phoenix at the Belfast GP 2008.
