The much delayed final meeting of the season finally took place in Tallaght, Dublin. Kenny Beggs became the first Irish Premier League Champion, finishing unbeaten, 12 points ahead of Gary Moore & John Moore, who were only separated by goal difference.

John Moore won the Cup, beating Davy Clegg on shots, after a 1-1 draw in the Final.
