Irish Circuit Success for IPL Players 21st Oct 2023
IPL players enjoyed a successful season on the 2023 Irish Circuit. Kenny Beggs topped the Championship Table, having won in Dublin, been runner-up in 3 events and a semi-finalist in Derry. Barry Spence climbed to 3rd, thanks to his victory in the Derry Open along with 2 semi-final appearances and a quarter-final. Respectful finishes also for Andy Fitzpatrick (5th), Mick O'Brien (6th) and young Daniel Kaliszewski (best Junior and 7th in the overall table). John Moore was a semi-finalist twice and a quarter-finalist and did well to finish 8th, having only been available for 3 events. Dave Elton travelled from Tralee to all five events and was rewarded with 9th place overall and the Plate trophy in Derry, while Ernie Bickerstaff finished a steady 12th out of 35. Nicky Moore, Joe Harrington, Tommy Fitzpatrick, Eliott Fitzpatrick and Gerry Harrington played less events but were all an important part of the Circuit.

2023. He recently won the Plate Event at the 2023 Wexford Open in Monamolin - 10 years after winning an Old Rules Competition at the same venue. He is currently

Subbuteofest 2023 Team Event 30th July 2023
A great weekend hosted by Gerry Harrington's local Haverhill Club, with some tough competition. IPL lost to Wobbly Hobby A and Yorkshire but beat Chasers to finish 3rd in their group. Next match was the Plate semi-final against Wobbly Hobby B. This turned out to be an exciting 2-2 draw, with Kenny & Joe trying to outscore Wobbly's Cayne and Ruby Matthews in a battle for goal-difference. In the end, Wobbly edged it by one goal.
Dave Elton in Old Subbuteo Event 30th July 2023
Dave Elton took part in the Old Subbuteo. This clashed with the Team Event, so he couldn't make his debut for the team. He had a great time, though, and added some Old Subbuteo to his collection at the Collectors Fair.

IPL 4th in Derry International Open 25th June 2023
An excellent performance by the Irish Premier League team to finish 4th in Derry. They picked up 10 points, with victories against Hannover, Derry and Wolves B, a draw with Yorkshire and only lost to overall winners, Wobbly Hobby and Runners-up Wolves A. They were pipped to 3rd place by Yorkshire on game-difference in the last session. As a result, the IPL Team has moved up 12 places to No.66 on the FISTF World Ranking
Young Star Daniel
Great effort from the whole team, especially young Daniel Kaliszewski, who held his own against the big boys. He showed great character to come back from 0-2 down to draw 2-2 with Derry's Lawrence Watson. He was 2-0 up against Wobbly's Stuart Briffett, so they brought on Alan Lee at half-time but Daniel held out for another superb 2-2 draw. He also beat the Hannover player, Noah Wulff, and was the best-placed Junior in the Open.

The team narrowly missed out on a semi-final place by finishing 3rd in their group, behind eventual winners, Wolves, and Glasgow B. Many thanks to Tom Burns, Dave Gladman and the Glasgow Club for organising an enjoyable weekend. Interestingly, it is exactly 20 years since Andy & Kenny represented the original IPL Team in Preston 2003
